A very chilly welcome back to Term 3! We hope you enjoyed your holidays! This term, we are investigating procedural texts. A procedural text is a piece of writing that gives you instructions on how to do something. We are looking at how procedures are used in fiction stories.
We read Stone Soup by Tony Ross, a story about a clever hen who manages to stall a hungry wolf’s plans to make a meal of her by persuading him to taste her stone soup first. We followed the instructions in the book, adding a different vegetable each step to create the perfect stone soup.
We also explored Book Creator app and experimented with inserting text, pictures and sounds. Throughout this term we will be using Book Creator to create our own procedural texts.
