Commenting on Blogs

Today the grade twos were introduced to commenting on blogs. We looked at the Year Two Information Literacy blog as well as their Class blog. We looked at a few posts and choose one we would like to comment on. There are a few rules they need to follow and we worked our way through them as a class and then created a comment to post.

The rules are…

  • Start like a letter
  • Compliment the writer, add new information or make a connection
  • Ask a question
  • Finish like a letter
  • Do not include any personal information, especially your last name
  • Carefully proofread and edit – capital letters, full stops and correct spelling

We also looked at a few examples to see if the grade twos could follow the rules and decide whether a comment got the thumbs up for being right or the thumbs down for not following the rules.
